On Tap: Gazellig Tap House coming to The Grove, Wandering Sidecar Bar Co. Rolls Into Town
Gezellig Tap House and Bottle Shop is taking over the space that currently houses The Demo Room in The Grove neighborhood. The beer shop is aiming for a fall opening and will carry a wide variety of local, national and international beers by the bottle and on draft as well as offer packaged beer to-go. The space is known to bring talented performers, so there are plans for opportunities to bring in local talent, pop-ups and events.
“We want to elevate the craft beer experience in the St. Louis area, for the connoisseur and initiate alike, in a setting that captures general togetherness and conviviality,” said Brandon Cavanagh, founder and operator of Gezellig. A farewell party for The Demo will take place on July 9. 4191 Manchester Road, The Grove
Ever wish you could hire out your bartender for an event? Well, now you can. As first reported by Feast, the Wandering Sidecar Bar Company is St. Louis’ mobile bar housed in a 1960 Avalon camper. Owners Tiffany and Dave Unger are based out of St. Charles, but are willing to travel—even the first 50 miles are included in the fees. The duo provides their vintage bar along with glasses, ice and garnishes—all you need is to provide the alcohol. The Wandering Sidecar is already taking requests for events.
Shaw neighborhood mainstay Thurman Grill and Provisions’ owner Larry Weineles has sold the grill and will be closing after 10 years in business today. The space will undergo a brief renovation before new ownership takes over. Weineles announced via the NextDoor neighborhood app that the new owner, Doug Fowler, will be reopening hopefully by early August. 4069 Shenandoah Ave., Shaw
