Pappy’s and Southern are getting a new microbrewery as neighbors. Announced on Facebook this week and reported by St. Louis Business Journal, STL entrepreneur Steve Albers will be opening Center Ice Brewery in the Dinks Parrish Laundry building in 2017. An ode to all things hockey, the craft brewery’s tasting room will have a bar and fixtures made from reclaimed wood from the Old Arena in St. Louis that went down in 1999. The brewery also got a some help last year from the public via Kickstarter with a fundraising amount of about $15,000. Expect to see four regular brews on tap and several seasonal specials. 3120 Olive St., Midtown

In case you missed it, Schlafly Beer brewed an Apricot IPA especially for STL Craft Beer Week. The week wraps up on Saturday, so you still have time to try it out along with Bottleworks’ chef KT Ayers’ special menu to celebrate the brew and the seasonal fruit. There’s a four-course menu for $39—which includes a pint of Apricot IPA—or the dishes can be served a la carte. Enjoy items like a salad filled with Bottleworks’ tomatoes and cucumbers, Giesert’s watermelon, dark leafy greens, feta, onion and spiced apricot vinaigrette or a glazed pork kebob with basil-apricot glazed Rensing’s pork, fruit and nut basmati pilaf. 7260 Southwest Ave., Maplewood, 314.241.2337
