Oct. 17: Celebrate the fall weather tomorrow and the return of Schlafly’s Special Release Pumpkin Ale at the Schlafly Great Pumpkin Festival. From noon-7pm at Schlafly Bottleworks, enjoy a fall fair complete with a pig roast, family-friendly activities, live music and other unique brews such as the pumpkin stout and hard apple cider. Vendors Perennial DIY, Stray Rescue, Kaldi’s Coffee, MO Kettle Corn and more will also be present. 7260 Southwest Ave., Maplewood

The Civil Life Brewing Co. is making plans to expand into the next door space that once housed an auto body shop. As reported by St. Louis Magazine, owner Jake Hafner has purchased the space and plans to demolish the building early next year to give the brewery an option to expand if sales continue to improve. It will serve as extra parking space for the popular local tap room until plans are set. 3714 Holt Ave., Tower Grove South

Total Wine & More opened its second St. Louis-area location yesterday in Brentwood. Shoppers this weekend will also support The Muny, as a portion of the grand opening proceeds will benefit the local organization. 90 Brentwood Promenade Ct., Brentwood
