Urban Chestnut Brewing Company
The popular Midtown biergarten will soon be spreading roots to a corner spot in The Grove at Manchester and Taylor Avenues. In order to celebrate their second location, Urban Chestnut will be opening the doors to their Grove Brewery & Bierhall during their 3rd annual “Wolpertinger” event on Jan. 26. Besides being among the first to see St. Louis’ largest craft brewery, guests will also enjoy samples from over 20 local brewers, delicious dishes from food trucks and live entertainment by The Funky Butt Brass Band. Tickets are $40 online or $35 if purchased in advance at Urban Chestnut’s Midtown location. 4465 Manchester Ave., The Grove.

4 Hands Brewing Company
To celebrate their second birthday, 4 Hands is hosting a bash with plenty of delish brews and good food. Last year, they released two anniversary beers to commemorate the special occasion – the double red “Home” and the aged version, “No Place Like Home,” that spent 6 months in cabernet barrels. This year, 4 Hands will release “Beyond The Bricks,” which is a Belgian strong golden ale aged in Chardonnay barrels with apricots. On tap will be other barrel-aged brews and fan favorites, such as their peanut butter chocolate milk stout and the effervescent Cuvee Ange. 1220 S. 8th St., LaSalle Park, 314.436.1559.

Perennial Artisan Ales
Earlier this week, USA Today mentioned Perennial Artisan Ales as one of the best brewpubs in the nation. Beer expert Joe Tucker placed Perennial on his top 20 list for favorite craft breweries across the country. This alone would be reason to celebrate, but Perennial also happened to be Tucker’s only pick from Missouri. Try a taste of their nationally acclaimed brews this weekend at the Perennial tasting room. 8125 Michigan Ave., St. Louis.

Alpha and Boulevard Brewing Companies
Later this month two breweries will be teaming up with local restaurants for special beer pairing dinners. On Jan. 21, Pi Pizzeria will host Boulevard at their Delmar Loop location for a four-course menu matched up with award-winning brews. Also, Master Cicerone Neil Witte will be there to help walk diners through the pairings as well as to answer any questions about Boulevard. For reservations, call Pi Pizzeria. 6144 Delmar Blvd., The Loop, 314.727.6633.

On Jan. 26, Hiro Asian Kitchen will be pairing a five-course dinner with Alpha ales, storters and sours. The Asian fusion menu will combine elements of East and West, such as the Szechuan peppercorn-coated sunflower seeds, to create a delicious meal complemented by great beer. For reservations call Hiro Asian Kitchen; dinner is $48 per person. 1405 Washington Ave., St. Louis, 314. 241.4476.
