On Tap: Brew Fest Features Home Brewers at Ballpark Village, Oktoberfest Events Announced

Home brewers and beer-lovers will gather this Saturday for the second annual Ballpark Village Brew Fest by Budweiser. From 1-5pm, experience single-style home brewing competition of ESP (Extra Special Bitter) brews. The winning recipe to be brewed at Anheuser-Busch Research Pilot Brewery and sampled in the Budweiser Brew House. Festivities will also feature samples of select Anheuser-Busch varieties, live brewing demonstrations by area home brew clubs, music by Kim Massie, a pig roast and an Anheuser-Busch Clydesdale photo opportunity. Sept. 25-27: Anheuser-Busch will be celebrating German Oktoberfest at the brewery. Filled with traditional Oktoberfest festivities, guests will enjoy great beer, food and entertainment. Some of the unique activities will include a wedding ceremony—a tradition dating back to the 1800s—with the brewmaster tapping the first keg at the conclusion. German fare like bratwursts, Bavarian pretzels and gingerbread cookies will also be available to pair with your beer. Sept. 25-27: Urban Chestnut will also be celebrating its 5th Annual Oktoberfest at its Midtown Brewery & Biergarten with German food, games, music and of plenty of beer. This will be the first time the local brewery will celebrate the festival over three days. In addition to their popular German beers, there will be some surprises in store and even special appearances by Schlafly, The Civil Life, and 4 Hands Brewing Co. as well.
