On Tap: A-B Biergarten Hosting Fundraiser for Ferguson Brewing Company Employees

Defiance, Missouri’s Chandler Hill Vineyards took home eight medals from the 2015 Missouri Wine Competition in July. The awards are held annually to recognize the most quality wines in the state. Among the Chandler Hill wines earning the top nods were the 2013 Savage Norton with the prestigious C.V. Riley Award for best Norton in Missouri. A panel of leading experts in the industry across the nation judged 270 wines this year. The winning wines will be showcased at the Missouri State Fair this month.

Aug. 9: Local beer-lovers can raise a glass for a good cause this Sunday in The Biergarten at Anheuser-Busch. The fundraiser will support Ferguson Brewing Company and its employees who have been out of work since the facility suffered an electrical fire. The Biergarten will be pouring FBC’s Pecan Nut Brown, St. Louis Pale Ale and Hefeweizen this Sunday from 10am-6pm. In addition to general cash donations, employees will be collecting cash in exchange for beer tokens as well as give guests an opportunity to participate in a raffle for gift baskets. 1200 Lynch St., Soulard, 314.577.2626

Aug. 29: Are you a home brewer or just love great beer? Ballpark Village is hosting its Second Annual Brew Fest. This year, see live demonstrations by ten local home brew clubs as well as single-style brewers as they compete for this year’s best ESP (Extra Special Bitter). The winning recipe will be brewed at the Anheuser-Busch Research Pilot Brewery and sampled in the Budweiser Brew House. Aug. 29: Join the City of Clayton for the first-ever Craft on Tap on Saturday, Aug. 29. from 1pm-5pm. Guests will be able to sample craft beers from more than two dozen local spots while enjoying live music.
