Menswear Look Of The Week: Polished Punk
You’re not the lead singer of The Strokes, but in this getup, you could surely pretend. These rough-and-tumble pieces blended with polished basics are the epitome of rocker chic. Keep the jacket on, and you’re the toughest guy at the bar. Take it off, and the rest is fairly simple: Casual with an edge.
What makes or breaks this combination is all in the details. Try rolling up the chinos to just above the ankles; this way; you’ll showcase the boots, give a little bit of ankle and make your legs look longer. Spice up the T-shirt by slightly cuffing the sleeves, kind of like James Dean did with his signature white tees (which would also gel with these pieces). As for the jacket, leave it unzipped and ditch the belt. You’ll look less “Grease Lightning” and more like the slick intimidator. All you’ll need to complete the look is a whiskey neat and a Marlboro red.
