LouFest Announces 18 'Nosh Pit' Vendors

LouFest is known for mixing local, regional and national acts, ranging from funk and indie-rock to alt-country and soul, but the festival is also earning a reputation for its wide array of premier food and drinks vendors.

On Tuesday, LouFest announced the 18 vendors that will comprise the “Nosh Pit” at this year’s festival on Sept. 6 and 7 in Forest Park. Check out the full list below to start planning where to chow down in between sets.

Aya Sofia, known for Turkish, modern Mediterranean, and classic Middle Eastern cuisine, will serve their Turkish Meatball Sandwich ($5), Chicken Shish Kebab [gluten-free] ($5), Phyllo Dough With Feta And Ricotta Cheese [vegetarian] ($5) and Baklava ($5).

Burger pros Baileys’ Range will have Grass-Fed Cheeseburgers or Match Cheeseburgers [vegetarian] ($8), Loaded French Fries [gluten-free] ($8), Chilled Soba Noodles With Vegetables And Peanut Sauce [vegan/vegetarian] ($7) and a Marinated Chicken Wrap ($8).

Edwardsville favorite Cleveland-Heath will serve the “gourmet comfort food” they’re known for, including a Kale Salad ($6), Home Grown Tomato & Quinoa Salad ($7), Burger With Smoked Onion Jam ($7) and Beignets With Salted Caramel Whipped Cream ($5).

Evangeline’s Bistro and Music House offers a taste of New Orleans in the Central West End, and they’re bringing NOLA staples like Evangeline’s Gumbo ($8), Vieux Carre Beignets [vegetarian] (Classic: 3 for $5, Chocolate: 3 for $6), Bourbon Chicken Skewers [gluten-free] ($8) and Café Orleans Salad [vegetarian/gluten-free] ($7) to LouFest.

Flaming Gyros will serve up Greek classics like the Gyro Sandwich ($8), Falafel Sandwich ($8) and Greek Salad ($6), as well as Cheese Fries ($5).

Peking, Szechwan and Korean-style Chinese appetizers, including Pork Egg Rolls ($3), Crab Rangoon ($3), Pot Stickers ($3) and Hot Braised Wings ($7), will be available from Hot Wok Cafe.

Artisan ice cream maker Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, known for funky flavors and high-quality ingredients, will serve single servings of Jeni’s Indies in Salty Caramel, Dark Chocolate or Lemon Frozen Yogurt ($5) and Jeni’s Chocolate Hazelnut Ice Cream Sandwich ($6). You can also build your own with a Jeni’s “Small” [Choose two of: Ndali Estate Vanilla Bean, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, Milkiest Chocolate In The World, Lemon & Blueberries Frozen Yogurt] ($5) or a Jeni’s “Trio” [Choose three of: Ndali Estate Vanilla Bean, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, Milkiest Chocolate In The World, Lemon & Blueberries Frozen Yogurt] ($6).

If a long, hot day of music has you in need a caffeine kick, head to Kaldi’s Coffee for a 16 oz. Iced Coffee ($4), 16 oz. Honey-Almond Cold Brew ($4), 16 oz. Ice Tea ($4) or 16 oz. Hibiscus Tea Limeade ($4).

Kenrick’s Meat Market and Catering, known for fresh, high-quality meats and barbecue, will serve Ozark Grillers ($2 each), Colonel Stan’s Chicken Wings ($6), Seasoned Pork Sizzlers ($6) and Kenrick’s Landjaeger ($5).

Prepared foods company Kitchen Kulture is serving a Soba Salad With Shrimp or Tofu [vegetarian/vegan] ($9), Green Papaya Salad With Shrimp Or Tofu [gluten-free/vegetarian/vegan] ($9) and Grilled Pork Belly [gluten-free] ($9).

MexiCali favorite Mission Taco Joint will have some of their most popular street tacos, including the Carne Asada Taco [gluten-free], Baja Fish Taco [gluten-free], Portobello Taco and Grilled Chicken Taco. All are 2 for $7.

For a bacon fix, head to Naked Bacon. They’ll have their Gourmet BLT Taco (1 for $5 or 2 for $9), Strips Of Naked Bacon in Original or Jalapeno [gluten-free] (4 for $4), and Naked Bacon Wrapped Spring Rolls (4 for $9).

Memphis-style barbecue favorites can be found at PM BBQ. Look for their Pulled Pork Sandwich & Chips ($10), Smoked Chicken Quarter & Chips [gluten-free] ($8), Baby Back Ribs & Chips [gluten-free] ($10) and Pork Hillbilly Nachos [gluten-free] ($8).

Smoothie King will have an array of fruit smoothies for $5 each, including Caribbean Way, Mangofest, Strawberry Lemon Twist and Light & Fluffy. All are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free.

Known for strange creations and wild collaborations, Strange Donuts is serving their Gooey Butter, Key Lime Pie, Campfire and Cookie Crumble [vegan] donuts. All are $3.

BBQ chain Sugarfire Smokehouse will offer some of their most popular sandwiches, including the Pulled Pork Sandwich ($7), Smoked Brisket Sandwich ($8), Smoked Turkey Sandwich ($7) and Smoked Portobello Sandwich ($7).

For south-of-the-border fare, hit TANGO Argentina Food. They’re known for their empanadas, and at LouFest they’ll serve up their Meat Empanada in Spicy or Mild, Spinach Empanada [vegetarian], Ham and Cheese Empanada and Creamy Corn Empanada [vegetarian], all for $4 each.

Triumph Grill will have a mix of offerings including Italian Ice ($5), White Bean Hummus ($7), Gyro Wrap ($8) and Jerk Porkloin Sliders With Mango Chutney ($8).
