Local Love: A Midsummer Ice Cream Social with Scarlett Garnet Jewelry
Jewelry designer and St. Louisan Katie Miller is putting your sweet tooth to the test this summer with a delicious new line of bracelets and earrings. Channeling the flavors and colors of a vintage ice cream parlor, Katie, along with design partner Garnet Griebel, happily introduce their new Ice Cream Social line as the newest Scarlett Garnet collection.
A modern nod to vintage jewelry styles, the line combines virtually weightless candy-colored aluminum chains, ornate clasps and stainless steel accents, creating eye-catching pastel-toned pieces that are as light as air. Hand-crafted in their respective studios (Katie on Cherokee Street and Garnet in Columbus Park, Kansas City), each item is drawn and assembled by the designers themselves, ensuring customers a truly unique piece of locally made wearable art.
With “flavors” like raspberry sorbet and mint chocolate chip, Katie and Garnet are eager to show the relaxed and fun side of the usually “serious” Nouveau/Deco inspired brand, without compromising their signature style. “Scarlett Garnet pieces are bold statement pieces that you will find other people in St. Louis wearing, but are unlike anything commercially available and are instantly recognizable,” says Katie, adding that the new collection “is sweet enough to eat!”
Ice Cream Social pieces are available on Scarlett Garnet’s Etsy shop and at Katie’s St. Louis boutique at 2619 Cherokee Street.
