Local Handmade Artwork Featured in Holiday Pop-Up Shop At Kranzberg Arts
On Friday, Dec. 5, the Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design and the Kranzberg Arts Center will partner to bring the work of their artists to the public in a special Holiday Pop-Up Shop. The shop will feature all handcrafted artwork for purchase, from ceramics to sculpture. The artists showcased are either Craft Alliance artists-in-residence (Grace Kubilius—wearable art; Norleen Nosri–functional ceramics; Audrey Peck–jewelry; and Robert Thomas Mullen—metals) or were recently featured in the Kranzberg exhibit “ALTrs” (Damon Davis–painting; Chad Elvins–video; and Black James–painting).
To snag your own piece of artwork, check out the special opening event in the Kranzberg Art Center’s lobby on Friday, Dec. 5, from 5-9pm. The shop itself will be in the Kranzberg’s Incubator Space and will run through Dec. 21. In addition, works from the photography exhibition “Wade in the Water: Portraits of the Ferguson Protests” will be available for purchase, also beginning on Dec. 5. Round out your art-filled evening by taking in the other galleries open for First Fridays in Grand Center. More information about the Holiday Pop-Up Shop and the “Wade in the Water” exhibit can be found on the Kranzberg’s website or on the event’s Facebook page.
