Local Chefs Katie Lee Collier and Wil Pelly To Face-Off in Chef's Plate Competition

Chef’s Roll is kicking off a high-energy traveling competition series right here in St. Louis. Local foodies can become their own judge by getting to watch two STL chefs go head-to-head before a live audience to present their culinary skills in Chef’s Plate: 2 hosted by 2012 “Food Network Extreme Chef” winner Terry French at Central Table on March 23.

The two featured chefs from St. Louis for the evening will be Katie Lee Collier of Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria and Wil Pelly, executive chef for In Good Company group—which includes Sanctuaria, Diablitos CantinaHendricks BBQ and Café Ventana. The two tastemakers will compete in front of Chef French and a live audience. Whichever chef comes out as the winner will get to move on to the prestigious World Food Championships later this year. The Central Table event will feature St. Louis celebrity food judges, a special musical performance by Deal James and the libation masterminds of Cocktails-Are-Go, Matt and Beth Sorrell.

“At Chef’s Roll, presentation is everything,” says CEO Thomas Keslinke. “Chef’s Plate is a competition that allows chefs to tap into their creative sides to really showcase their presentation chops. Chef Collier and Chef Pelly are two of St. Louis’ most interesting chefs and we are honored to have them compete for us.”

Upon arrival, guests will be able to walk the kitchen carpet and get an opportunity to rub shoulders with Chef French before enjoying handcrafted cocktails from Cocktails-are-Go. And, of course, guests will be able to savor each chef’s presentation before casting their vote for the chef they believe should be crowned champion. Attendees will also get the chance to participate in elevating their profile with social media engagement—the most engaged will even go home with a culinary-inspired VIP gift bag.

Tickets are $60 per person and include dinner of chef’s presentation, entertainment, plus beer, wine and cocktail selections beginning at 6pm. Seating is limited, so reserve your tickets in advance.
