On Sunday, St. Louis’ fashion elite will band together for a fabulous cause—the 5th Annual Celebrating Success Spring Fashion Show presented by the talented young designers of Lift for Life Academy. Honored guest judge Guy Trebey, the fashion editor of The New York Times, will join key members of the St. Louis fashion community in celebrating the success of the academy’s fashion program, which was developed five years ago by designer and “Project Runway” star Laura Kathleen Baker.

Lift for Life is St. Louis’ first charter school and aims to empower at-risk youth with the skills they need to be successful in a variety of careers. Students in the fashion program have been utilizing recyclable materials and upcycling dresses to present in the annual fashion show luncheon in an effort to win the top prize: an opportunity to have their design manufactured by Laura Kathleen.

The event includes a cocktail reception, luncheon, silent and social auction and a fashion show of the students’ original designs. Students will be on-hand to mix and mingle with guests before the announcement of the winner.

The event will be held on Sunday, May 3 from noon-3pm at the Ritz-Carlton, 100 Carondelet Plaza in Clayton. All proceeds will benefit Lift for Life Academy. To purchase your tickets, vote for the winner or find out more information, visit Lift for Life on the web.
