Lay on the Layers

Facing another STL winter becomes a lot less daunting with the right ensemble.

Staying warm and dry during a St. Louis winter can feel like a lesson in futility, but with a few tweaks to your wardrobe you’ll be ready for nearly any temperature. Classic layerables like silklined hats (both flannel and wool) will keep you comfy outdoors and can easily be removed if the office thermostat is set to subtropical temps. If you’re always on the go, a quilted vest (minus the puff ) readies your street-style look for a quick sprint from your car to the coffee shop. For footwear, a thick sole offers adequate protection from cold surfaces, but our fave way to warm our tootsies this season is with a luxurious pair of cashmere socks.

Fully Vested

Experiment with multiple layers, using thinner pieces as the base and adding density as you go for a look that’s both comfortable and fashion-forward.
