LA-Based Saint Rita Parlor Presents New Collection Preview + After-Party On Saturday
Designer and St. Louis native Neil Bardon of style-conscious eyewear brand Saint Rita Parlor is heading back to the Lou this week for an exclusive preview event and after-party that will take place on Saturday at The Night Owl on South Grand. The party will celebrate the April launch of Bardon’s newest design endeavor, The Florissant Collection, which is inspired by his hometown and heritage that are prevalent themes in his pieces.
The celeb-worn line (Ted Danson is a fan) has earned a buzz in its now-homebase of Los Angeles and beyond thanks to a sleek design concept and a commitment to American-made quality. The Saint Rita Parlor story pays tribute to Bardon’s history in a unique way as well.
“This collection advances from the 1940s-inspired debut collection to the modern attributes of the 1950s,” explains Bardon. “The ’50s represent the American dream, which is shown in detail in my new range of eyewear and across the board down to visual language and photography. Playing heavily on specific memories/attributes of my family, like roses (Fleurissant: meaning to bloom in French), mechanical engineering (both grandfathers were in this field), and the medical field (my grandmother Rita’s profession, after whom the brand is named) are are represented and tied into this collection.”
The event will showcase a preview of The Florissant Collection, as well as the debut of a limited re-issue of their top-selling eyewear frame the “1072” in three new color ways. Two DJ sets will fuel the party vibe, by Aaron Stovall of So Many Dynamos and Mikey Wehling. Join the crew on Saturday, March 26 from 7pm-1:30am at The Night Owl above Tree House on 3177 South Grand, and visit the Facebook event page to RSVP.
