His custom engagement ring designs can be seen on the hands of countless St. Louis brides, which likely explains the incredible number of wedding invitations he receives each year. Lets just say his reputation precedes him.

How He Got Into the Biz.
My family in Israel has been in the diamond-cutting business for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I didn’t really see myself being a part of the business. Being around diamonds was pretty cool, but I just wasn’t interested in diamondcutting. I found my passion in designing. When I started Mavrík, it gave me the freedom to create. It’s a great feeling to know people are walking around wearing my jewelry, and I can say, “Yes, I made that.”
I studied electronics before my military service in Israel. Afterward, I jumped head first into the jewelry business and taught myself the fundamentals. Every day, I continue to expand my knowledge in this ever-changing industry.
Why His Job Rocks.
I’m lucky enough to share in the most memorable milestones in my customers’ lives. People come to me because they want to make that special moment perfect, and I can help them do that. This is what makes me happy to come into work every day.
Oh gosh, I don’t think there ever is a typical day. Some days, I can be found in the store, and other days I am taking trips to jewelry conventions to learn about new technology and creations. I take trips to Israel to see handmade jewelry and also to buy diamonds. Whenever I leave, I always come away with more knowledge— and more jewelry!
On Aug. 12, 2011, the real gem in my life, baby Bella, was born. This little girl makes everything worth it. Professionally, I’ve put a lot of hard work into my business to get it to where it is today. When most people were forced to close their stores or lay people off, I was blessed to be able to expand, and I am very proud of that.

Most Surprising Thing About the Diamond Biz.
My work is really less about diamonds and more about people. The diamonds are the easy part—it’s matching the perfect diamond to the customer that takes the most work.
Goals for the Future.
I want to keep my business growing, but I also want to keep it personal. I interact with all of my customers; I get to know them, understand them and know what they like. It’s really important for me to continue to run my business in this way.
