Interested in a Night of French Romance?

Last week, I was invited to sit down at The Ritz-Carlton in Clayton along with a handful of others to preview Soirée d’Amour–the Valentine’s Day dinner hosted by The Ritz. The romantic evening is hosted by chef Damien Faure (of The Grill at The Ritz) and his wife Simone Faure (of La Patisserie Chouquette).

Now, because I care about the people of St. Louis and want to make sure their Valentine’s Day is extra special, I ate every plate that was set in front of me at the preview—all 12 of them. The four-course dinner has three options for you and your loved one to choose from. And you won’t be disappointed, at all.

The best part, in my opinion, were the desserts—sorry, Damien! All were quite unique and had my sweet tooth roaring for more. However, since you can only choose one, I’d go for the chouquette. The giant puff filled with strawberry and rose, dripped in pink peppercorn meringue, sitting in a bed of pistachio nougat mousse? Yeah, I was licking the plate.

Check out the rest of the menu for yourself:
