Thanks to St. Louis native Patrick Dolan, shopping locally for the stylish gent this spring is about to be easier than ever. Patrick’s new blog, MANMADE, which launched last month, features amazing products found in St. Louis that will help every man step up his style game. Focusing on independent and locally owned shops, MANMADE will become the first and foremost source for the best things to buy for guys in The Lou.

What is MANMADE?
MANMADE is a fashion and lifestyle guide focusing on independently produced and handmade goods for the modern St. Louis man. We feature local and national makers, and our goal is to connect our readers with product creators and the local shops where you can find them.

Where is your favorite place in St. Louis to shop?
For housewares and gifts, Urban Matter in Dutchtown can’t be beat and Philomena + Ruth in Waterloo, Ill. is my go-to for fashion and accessories. Both stores offer an eclectic selection of goods that you will not find in a mall. You can feel the passion that these shop owners have for their business the second you walk in the door.

What influences your personal style?
I like adapting classic style aesthetics with a modern twist. Pairing a vintage denim button-up from the ’70s with a modern leather biker jacket is a perfect example of my style. I really like shopping at May’s Place and Parsimonia for vintage wardrobe staples.

What accessory are you excited to rock for spring?
Local accessory line Lonesome Traveler has launched a new collection of neckties and bow ties for spring that I cannot wait to incorporate into my wardrobe. Many of their fabrics are sourced from premium vintage materials, and their selection of floral prints will fit perfectly with casual or formal spring looks.

What can we expect to see from MANMADE in the coming months?
I really want to connect St. Louisans to the curators of some great men’s products. Besides featuring some great items, I will be hosting some pop-up shops throughout the city in the coming months.  MANMADE’s first pop-up will be this weekend at Notch in the Grove, featuring goods from local makers. Perennial Artisan Ales will also be serving complimentary craft beer for shoppers.

Check out Patrick’s first pop-up shop this Saturday, March 5, from 3-7pm at Notch in the Grove.
