Get Away From The 'Lou: Birmingham, AL

 In Culture

As much as we love good ol’ STL, it’s nice to pack up a few things and get away for the weekend. Whether you’re wanting to drive to another city for a different kind of nightlife or escape to the countryside for stargazing and quiet, there are many places to travel for a great weekend outside the ‘Lou. This month we bring you Birmingham, AL.

Is it really a vacation without a little pizza? Post Office Pies serves us New York style crust with a little Southern flair. We recommend the chicken pesto—thank us later.

If you’re on a diet, don’t come here. Melt has everyone’s guilty pleasure from grilled cheese, to nutella and banana to homemade fries. You’re going to want to get one of everything.

Grab a local brew at this very hip spot on 2nd Avenue North and don’t forget to grab a cupcake on your way out. Seriously.
