One of the designers who will be featured in this weekend’s REVEAL pop-up in the CWE, Washington University grad and St. Louis-native Sarah Speck, launched her fashion brand (Batch No. 8) after a move to Dallas post-graduation. Keeping the focus on “season-less” pieces, small collections and American-made quality, she aims to do her part in simplifying the often overwhelming world of fashion.

Her newest collection takes its influence from interior design, another field Speck is passionate about. “Each garment, like an interior space, is intended to have two levels of appeal, both as an overall composition and also for its unique elements or details,” explains Speck. “There is a play on positive and negative space, with unlined and cutout panels creating an absence of space similar to the effect of a dramatic doorway or window.”

Select pieces from the new collection will be available during the REVEAL pop-up in Maryland Plaza that will take place this weekend. Batch No. 8, along with three to four other emerging brands, will be highlighted at the event, which features a pod-style concept created by fellow Wash U alum, Megan Berry.
