See Downtown STL’s Old Post Office Plaza turned into a street party for all this Sunday, Sept. 20, for Trailnet’s Share the Street Party.

Not only will this be a day to celebrate our city’s many healthy, active and vibrant communities, but the proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Trailnet’s efforts to build communities for better walking and biking. From 11am-7pm, guests can experience artist demonstrations, live entertainment organized by the St. Louis Blues Society, craft beer and food.

The party, activities, and music are free of charge. A bonus to this street party will be an introduction to what local foodies can expect from restaurateur Dave Bailey’s newest venture, Shift Test Kitchen & Takeout.

This will be Baileys’ Restaurants seventh dining spot and first take-out-only establishment—so do not expect to find a single seat in the restaurant. And as announced earlier this summer, Bailey noted that Shift will also be a restaurant where the menu will not only change throughout the week, but the cuisine itself will change completely from time to time. Four to five options will be available each day.

“Ultimately, this is a test kitchen for us,” Bailey says. “A place to flex our creative muscle to be sure, but more importantly, a place to get feedback on dishes that we are testing out. Based on that feedback, [these dishes] may or may not ultimately end up on our menus.”

Opening this month, Bailey said the first theme for Shift will be barbecue—which coincides with preparations to open Baileys’ barbecue restaurant next year. He also said that the restaurant will not stick to a specific regional style of barbecue, but rather “embrace barbecue from all over the the world in all its varied forms,” which will also include using whole-animal butchery as a part of their method, making one more reason the menu will change frequently.

As far as the sneak peek guests will receive this weekend, Bailey said he’s hoping for a great turnout for Trailnet and for Shift once opened.

Here’s what you can get a taste of from the upcoming restaurant this weekend:

    • Grass-fed beef or Match meat burger, with or without cheese
    • Loaded fries
    • Plain fries
    • Chicken wrap
    • Chilled soba noodle salad
    • Ice cream dish or cone from Baileys’ Range
