Female-forward Empowerment Takes Over St. Louis

The TEDxStLouisWomen conference was held yesterday at Union Station, featuring seven empowering female speakers: Adrianne Haslet-Davis, Elizabeth Reede, Jade Simmons, Evy Poumpouras, CFE, Kristen Hadeed, Ginger Hardage and Victoria J. Fraser, MD. Each speaker talked about their careers and life choices leading them to this moment at the independently organized conference and gave advice to those in the audience. The evening ended with a cocktail hour after the event.

Student Maid founder and millennial engagement expert Kristen Hadeed, for example, started her speech by describing how her parents made her work for what she wanted. She talked about how she took a cleaning job off of Craigslist to pay for a pair of jeans that she wanted, and it was that job that would eventually lead her to her career. Her story was not only inspiring, but it left the audience thinking about their own upbringing.

The audience was encouraged to take pictures and to write down notes from each speaker. At the intermission, the audience got a chance to get involved by discussing the speakers and talk with them individually.

ALIVE was proud to partner with TEDxWomen as a media sponsor for this event.
