Fashion Wins At The 2014 CFDA Awards

 In Style

The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. is a non-profit organization consisting of over 400 talented designers that partners with Swarovski every year to bring us the CFDA Awards. Presenting prestigious awards to many power players in the fashion industry and honoring veteran talent, the CFDA Awards are often likened to the Golden Globes.¬†Below is our round up of the best dressed on the red carpet and one striking look that we just can’t decide on.

Joans Smalls’ elegantly draped, black chiffon dress was one of the many hits of the night. The Grecian cut was perfectly juxtaposed with a high slit and pops of skin. She paired it well with metallic and leather sandals.

Solange Knowles’ slinky, liquid gold dress glowed at last night’s awards. With her paired down accessories, neutral makeup and natural hair, she let her figure shine. We say bravo!

The CFDA Awards are known for being more casual and relaxed than other awards shows. Chrissy Teigen’s short, red, lacy shift dress is a great example how to look perfectly chic and not overdone. We love the draped tuxedo jacket over her shoulders and her gold and nude accessories.

Praise for pants! Hollywood has proven time and time again that pants can be just as formal as an elegant gown. Jessica Stam wore a stark white pantsuit and peplum top and paired it with black accessories. Chic and simple, a perfect combo in our opinion.

Ah, Rihanna. CFDA’s Fashion Icon Award recipient always knows how to turn heads. We have to commend her fearless approach to fashion and the completely see-through, sparkling number she donned at last night’s awards. That being said, we haven’t been able to decide how to mark it. Hit or miss? You decide.
