1/ Books make fabulous gifts, so when I stumbled across Refinery29’s list of 40 suggestions from fashion industry experts, I was furiously adding several to my own personal wish list. Take a look if you are looking for some gift suggestions or just need to stock up on your reading material before the long Midwest winter. My top picks include: “The Collected Poems” by Sylvia Plath, “Chic Savagesby John Fairchild and “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: the Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo.

2/ If you have been anywhere near the internet for the past few days you have most likely seen the exciting launch of the new Pirelli Calendar which has taken the reigns as one of the most exciting departures from the norm of the season. Formerly exclusively reserved for the world’s top models (since 1964!), photographer Annie Leibovitz took a stand that has women and men rejoicing by featuring 12 real women who are not oversexualized, but rather REAL, raw and successful in their respective careers. “It shouldn’t be a big step,” says Leibovitz, ” but it is.”

3/ Martin Margiela is one of the top influences in fashion, and there’s no greater a decade where he shined than in the ’90s. takes a look at 14 of his most influential shows during the years where fashion was daring, fresh, innovative and always a sight for sore eyes.
