Expertly, Effortlessly Kate Spade New York at NYFW
Kate Spade New York debuted its highly anticipated Fall ‘14 collection as an hour-long presentation to a profoundly stylish crowd this past Friday at Center 548 near Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, N.Y.
Celebrity Stylist Brad Goreski was on hand, both backstage and front. Goreski styled the Asian-inspired collection, which dripped with perfectly placed handbags, clutches, high ponytails and glittering heels.
The collection itself featured embellishments of delicate pearls, golden clasps and feather details, as well as a range of shocking pink pastel fabrics in cashmeres and organic cottons, contrasted with models wearing flashes of electric blue and metropolis green in wool and nylon-fused fibers.
Chief Creative Officer Deborah Lloyd explained, “This season is inspired by my recent travels to Asia, where fast and exciting new technologies coexist with ancient traditions. It’s about relaxing the rules, and the silhouette. Smashing traditions to make new ones.”
Celebrity and fashion manicurist Deborah Lippmann also came on board for the Fall ’14 presentation to plan its runway beauty and nail tone.
Lippmann said, “I was inspired by Kate Spade’s ‘year of travel’ inspiration–from Tokyo to Shanghai to the Transcontinental Express. I wanted to complement the bold, layered looks by creating a long nail that was fresh, romantic and beautifully luminescent.”
The elaborate collection was broken into three separate but cohesive presentations, stretched across three platforms in one large creative space.
