Destination: The Docket
Housed within Saint Louis University Law School’s new Downtown digs on Tucker Boulevard, The Docket brings grab-and-go breakfast and lunch options, a lunch buffet and sit-down dinner service with a local focus to the public. Operated by Bon Appétit Management Co.—the same outfit in charge of Washington University’s dining services and the new Panorama Restaurant at SLAM—the eatery focuses on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and scratch-made menu items.
Chef Treff Baker runs the kitchen, creating everything from flavorful small plates to family-style dishes perfect for sharing. Pizzas of the thin-crust, Roman-style variety take center stage on both the lunch and dinner menus. They’re slathered with housemade sauces, piled with fresh, local toppings and dotted with cheese before going into the wood-fueled oven and then being served at the table with scissors for cutting. You’ll also find sandwiches given tasty finishing touches, like the roast beef with onion jam, the ham and brie with stone ground mustard aioli and the wild mushroom torta with white bean spread.
More dressed-up dinner options include smoked paprika-rubbed lamb chops served with honey yogurt, spatchcock chicken with mandarin orange couscous and pappardelle bolognese with local sausage and fresh-grown basil. Pair any of these impressive dishes with a selection from their equally impressive drink selection. Behind the bar you’ll find craft beer, wine and housemade cocktails and sodas.
The Docket is open Monday-Thursday from 7:30am-9pm, Friday from 7:30am-10pm and Saturday from 5-10pm. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
