As the STL design scene continues to grow, the city can add another exceptional resource to the list: Rocket Century. The new storefront on South Grand is quickly becoming a go-to for unique conversation pieces and intriguing home furnishings, thanks to shop owners who strive to seek out the best examples of modernism both near and far. One can surmise that they’ve been pretty successful thus far, as the store carries a number of pieces by the era’s most important designers—including a stunning pair of green apple chairs believed to be created by legendary modern furniture designer Milo Baughman. Other great finds include pieces by Paul McCobb, Martin Borenstein and Guido Faleschini—but be warned: items are continually changing. If you spot something special one day, it just might be gone the next. 3189 S. Grand, South City, 314.875.0705.
