Chicago’s Luxury Garage Sale Hits STL For a One-Day Pop-Up Shop Downtown

 In Style

Louis, Gucci and Chanel…oh my! For those with a taste for designer finds on a budget, Chicago-based consignment boutique, Luxury Garage Sale, has you covered. Created by Washington University alumna Lindsay Segal and her childhood friend Brielle Buchberg, Luxury Garage Sale is packing up its stock of gently-used designer and contemporary clothing and hitting the road for St. Louis, where it will host a one-day-only pop-up shop this Thursday, June 27 at the Collective at MX.

The shop has built quite a name for itself in Chicago, where its Wells Street boutique has spawned into several pop-up events around the Chicago area, garnering the attention of media outlets including Refinery29, Daily Candy, Lucky Magazine, Racked and NBC. The choice to venture to St. Louis was an easy one for Segal, a graduate of Fashion Design and Women’s Studies at the prestigious Sam Fox School of Arts. According to Sarah Saddemi, director of business development at Luxury Garage Sale, “[Lindsay] always loved that St. Louis is determined to help cultivate a strong fashion community by supporting local designers and students hoping to break into the fashion industry,” and credits Professor Jeigh Singleton for fostering her love for all things fashion.

Both avid collectors as children, the co-founders combined their love for fashion, vintage, sales and designer pieces to form the Luxury Garage Sale concept in 2011. The endeavor quickly grew to a staff of 14 and includes item research, clothing pickup, eBay sales, events and risk-free consignment. Best of all, the services are free—Luxury Garage Sale simply charges a 35-percent commission rate once the items sells.

So, how does the Luxury Garage Sale selection stack up when compared to other designer re-sellers? Simply stated, it boasts a “well-edited” collection. “The reason that Brielle and Lindsay opened the store in the first place was because they were frustrated with shopping in unorganized and overcrowded consignment shops,” Saddemi explains. “When customers step into our boutique, we hope their shopping experience is enhanced by the luxury environment that Brielle and Lindsay have created.”

The team plans on keeping its luxurious aesthetic alive for its first venture outside of Chicago and are eager to showcase the collection to the fashion-loving women of St. Louis. Featured designers will include Gucci, Christian Dior, Hermes, Chanel, Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Prada and more.

To snag a designer treasure of your own, be sure to mark your calendar for this one-day event taking place on Thursday, June 27th from 11am-7pm at the Collective at MX.
