Chicago’s Boka Restaurant Group

 In Feature, Food

One of Chicago’s most prominent restaurant dynasties, Boka Restaurant Group serves as the umbrella for 16 restaurants, including Momotaro, Girl & the Goat, Boka, Somerset and more. Founded by Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm in 2002, the group’s constituent restaurants include the handiwork of famed chefs like Stephanie Izard of Girl & the Goat and Lee Wolen of Boka, Somerset, Devereaux and many more.

What may strike diners the most here are the variety of options, anchored in various neighborhoods across the city. Start with a quick, delicious creation by Izard at Little Goat in the West Loop, like the Bull’s Eye French Toast with eggs, crispy chicken, sweet-onion brioche and barbecue maple syrup, an ooey-gooey cinnamon roll or omelette of the day.

Foodies will also love Boka for a more moody, elevated dinner option, just south of Lincoln Park. Try the dry-aged beef tartare to start, with kohlrabi, smoked onion yogurt and cured egg yolk. Then move on to the grilled bass, roasted chicken or charcoal-grilled beets, paired with a specialty from the locale’s extensive wine and cocktail list.
