Caleres Emerging Designer Award Finalists To Be Honored In NYC

Caleres, formerly Brown Shoe Company, and the Saint Louis Fashion Fund will be announcing the finalists for this year’s Caleres Emerging Designer Award at an exclusive, celebrity-filled event at the Caleres-Sam Edelman Showroom in New York City on Monday, Aug. 3. Caleres CEO, President and Chairman Diane Sullivan will be joined by editor Derek Blasberg, footwear designers Sam and Libby Edelman, CEO of La Force + Stevens James LaForce, Barneys Fashion Director Tomoko Ogura, designer Lisa Perry,¬†industry pro Fern Mallis and Co-CEO of Hilldun Corporation and Chairman of Interluxe Holdings LLC Gary Wassner in hosting the event for the top six designer finalists who will compete for the $25,000 prize.

The evening will bring together some of the top influential names in the fashion industry in honor of the award, which includes the top prize of $25,000 for the winner to build their brand and the production of an item. The roster of industry pro jurors includes event co-hosts LaForce, Ogura, Perry and Wassner. The winner will be announced after each finalist presents his or her collection on the runway during Saint Louis Fashion Week on Nov. 4 at St. Louis Union Station.
