Buck in Business

 In Culture, Interviews

The popular Clayton hotspot J. Buck’s has turned over a new leaf, with an eye to attracting a fresh crowd and keeping loyal followers coming back for more. The kitchen has fused its original lunch and dinner menus into one all-day menu, featuring an array of new items—all under $25. For those in the mood for a light snack, try the house-smoked bacon, beef jerky and pulled pork crisp, or the warm barbecue-spiced corn nuts. The star player in the new appetizer lineup is the chicken wings, which are marinated, house-smoked and deep-fried. For the sweet tooth, there’s the hard-to-resist caramel apple pizza, caramel gooey butter cake or the chocolate chip brownie, served warm in a skillet and topped with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. The décor has also been updated with new upholstery, paint, tabletops and a hand-painted mural by local artist ray Harvey (101 S. Hanley Road, Clayton, 314.725.4700)
