Summer may not be officially here yet, but around the ALIVE offices, the summer reading season has begun! We polled our staff for some of their latest reads to get our tome list started for the coming months. We hope our choices will inspire you the next time you kick back to relax on a lazy Sunday, or when you’re packing your suitcase with those infamous, “beach reads.”

Book Club ALIVE Magazine What Our Staff Is Reading Summer Reading List

Molly Rippinger, The Dish contributor and Editorial Assistant, shares her current foodie favorite below.

“Surprise, surprise, my summertime read is the mouthwatering cookbook, “Vegetable Literacy,” by Deborah Madison. Just 20 minutes spent flipping through the pages of gorgeous photography and delicious recipes are enough to have you forgetting the steaks and drooling for grilled radicchio topped with gorgonzola and walnuts instead. This love letter to vegetables makes a great gift for gourmands and serves well as a coffee table topper too,” she says.

Next up we have, Michael Boerner, our Sales and Marketing Coordinator. He’s here with his current summer read and a daily dose of inspiration from author, Brene Brown.

“I’m currently breaking the heck out of the binding on, “Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead.” I’m not one to read self-help books, but a very good friend, whom I have much love and respect for, gave it to me. So far, I have been flabbergasted by how on-point the book is. You could definitely say this book has my number,” Boerner says.

Our Account Executive, Molly Ross, shared her thoughts about a motivational book she’s been tearing through.

“I’m in the middle of reading, “Miracles Now: 108 Life-Changing Tools for Less Stress, More Flow and Finding Your True Purpose,” by author, Gabrielle Bernstein. I like it because it’s broken down into short chapters. Each chapter offers a technique to fight stress, burnout, frustration, etc. It includes mediation, breathing and approaching the day with a refreshed, positive attitude. The author also has a great website, linked to the book, that has become a launchpad to other inspiring and motivational bloggers and business owners.” Can you tell we have a small theme? We love to be motivated around the ALIVE offices!
