Billy G’s: A Hometown Comfort-Food Classic

 In Feature, Food

Kick back—you’re at one of the most popular hangouts in town. Enjoy a delicious menu packed with things from barbecue to dessert courtesy of the legendary St. Louis restaurant family the Gianinos. Even the salad (with house-made creamy Italian dressing) feels like a comfort food.

The Gianino family made their name with Italian cuisine, and also operate local favorites Joey B’s, Frankie G’s and Bill Gianino’s. Billy G’s holds on to some of that legacy with chicken spiedini, pasta con broccoli and Mama’s ragu (tagliatelle with a meatball, house-made marinara, salsiccia and ricotta). It also ventures out in other directions: macro bowls balance protein, carbs and fat; the Greek pita board is pure Mediterranean goodness; and the barbecued meats are classic St. Louis.

The “comfort-food” tag fits the beer, wine and cocktail lists, too, and happy hour runs all afternoon. Depending on your mood and the crowd you’re with, Billy G’s offers seating options to match: the patio, with its cabanas and twinkling lights; the fire table in the cocktail lounge; or the booths in the main dining area, where you can catch the game and cheer for your team.
