Everyone’s beauty routine gets a bit cluttered sometimes. Here are four ways to easily regroup and freshen up no matter what time of year.

/ Clean your brushes. A fresh face starts with clean tools, so wash ’em up every few weeks to ensure the most striking makeup application. I use just a drop of dish soap in the palm of my hand and swish a wet brush around in my palm under running water until it runs clear.

/ Purge your stash. I mentioned a few weeks ago how important it is to not forget to clean up your beauty products, and it’s amazing how refreshing it is to only have the necessities so you can get back to the basics of your routine. The best part? Less clutter and the ability to see what you actually need to go out and replace. Six tubes of nearly empty mascara be damned!

/ Exfoliate. One of the easiest ways to reinvigorate dry winter skin from head to toe is to take the time to exfoliate on a weekly basis, paying attention to easily forgotten places like lips, feet and elbows. Exfoliating scrubs are super easy DIYs as well. My most recent favorite for lips (because I love my lipstick) is a simple coconut oil sugar scrub.

/ Drink way more water. This may seem obvious, but there are so may people who forget to drink as much water as they should in the winter, causing already dry skin to literally be parched. The easiest natural way to ensure a bright and healthy complexion is to drink about two gallons of water a day. Sure, that seems like a lot, but when combined with a healthy diet, I promise you will glow from the inside out.
