Balaban’s is celebrating 42 years of business in St. Louis and five years at its Chesterfield location for an entire week.

Known for regularly featuring more than 500 wines, the original Balaban’s opened its doors in Central West End in 1972 and became a famous landmark. Five years ago, the business moved to Chesterfield, where it continues to offer its curated wine cellar paired with flavors of France and Spain.

So start off the celebration, this Sunday, Nov. 16, the award-winning restaurant will offer a Cheateau Montelena Wine Dinner. From Tuesday, Nov. 18 to Saturday, Nov. 22, a Retro Tasting Menu will be offered from 4pm-close for $45 per person and will feature famous dishes such as the Smoked Trout Pancake and Beef Wellington.

Balaban’s will also offer different anniversary tastings throughout the week.

Nov. 18: Taste craft beer and wine with Missouri Beverage Company.

Nov. 19: Learn and experience sake as well as fine wines from Pinnacle Imports.
