Notch, the newest venture from Josh Nichols, owner of KINK Hair in Clayton, opened on Aug. 23 in The Grove. Although most salons spend the majority of their time catering to women, the male perspective is considered in every aspect of Notch, from products to decor.

Nichols says, “We feel that there has not been a destination for men to feel pampered and prioritized. Men usually get a haircut at a salon designed for a woman or at salon or barbershop where they tend to be rushed in and out quickly. We were missing a place where men could feel comfortable hanging out and taken care of with the same care and attention that their female friends experience at a salon.”

Services offered at Notch range from straight razor shaves to mini facials. Clients are treated to customized consultations with an attention to detail, served up with a complimentary cocktail, wine, or beer. Ladies needn’t feel left out, since they’re also welcome at Notch. After all, as Nichols says, “they have an opportunity to meet handsome men that care about their appearance, too”. Visit Notch at 4187 Manchester Avenue or check out the website for more information.
