#ALIVEatNYFW: On The Scene At Christian Siriano AW15
From stunning panther-print velvet tunics to lavish jacquard jumpsuits and African ball gowns, Christian Siriano united the exotic palette of a jungle’s vibrant foliage with the posh vibe of a Manhattan gala, for what culminated as the ultimate uptown safari.
Reminded Us Of: The lavish patterns and structure of Siriano’s show-stopping ball gowns forced us to recall Scarlett O’Hara similarly scene-stealing wardrobe, rich colors, materials and panache. Notwithstanding, we also were stricken with a sudden urge to book a first-class flight to Cape Town, Africa!
The show began with tiger, zebra, and leopard printed embellishing expertly tailored coats, dresses, and pants. This steady march of jungle was finished with four head-turning, off-the-shoulder floral ball gowns that left friends and fans gasping for air, while designers and editors alike analyzed each piece to determine the source of his expertly selected materials. Together, the pony hair pencil skirt and blouses, the ostrich feathered shift dresses and gowns, feather appliqués, and smooth taffeta gowns moved with grace and function across the runway.
Siriano’s celebrity guests Kelly Osbourne, Coco Rocha, Zendaya, Juliette Lewis and Kesha were even spotted smiling in agreement with his pieces, as if they were daydreaming about which posh events to wear them to, and who else they could be worn by.
