ALIVE Wedding Volume II, Issue I: A Kansas City Couple Says Yes To The Moment
Timing was the key, or at least it was for Christina and Kurt Baker. The couple knew each other for three years, and while their friendship grew, romance did not. At least it didn’t until Christina let Kurt know that “No way” had transformed into a “Yes.” That was all the encouragement he needed. Six months later, Kurt had an engagement ring in his pocket, waiting for the right moment. As it happened, the couple’s normal dinner date spot—YaYa’s Euro Bistro in Kansas City—felt right: private, quiet, informal. Kurt slid the ring across the tablecloth, asking Christina if she’d like to spend the rest of their lives together. She did.
The sun rose that summer morning, and the pair made a day of it. After their first look at Loose Park, they were inseparable, going to all of the city’s gems for photos. Then the couple headed to Kansas City’s art district, the Crossroads, to the quirky-quaint Cellar 222. With a friend presiding as officiant, heartfelt personal vows and close family around them, they tied the knot, forever making their love timeless.
