Last week, the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (CAM) announced its spring fundraiser, The Art of the Matter Gala & Auction, generated more than $950,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships, donations, and the silent auction.

In addition to these proceeds, which directly benefit CAM’s exhibitions and programs, the museum announced that the evening’s fund-the-need auction, the largest in the institution’s history, exceeding the set goal of $100,000

“It was incredibly moving and meaningful to see so many in our community championing CAM’s mission and vision to enrich lives and inspire curiosity, creativity, and learning through contemporary art,” said CAM Executive Director Lisa Melandri. “We are immensely grateful for this wonderful show of support.”

Below, take a look through photos of this powerful evening in St. Louis art history.
