ALIVE Expands, Calls Middle of America Home

ALIVE Media Group is expanding. Following the new vision, look and feel of ALIVEmag.com, introduced just last week, ALIVE has announced plans for an expansion of the magazine’s reach throughout the middle of America.
In 2017, ALIVE Magazine, led by CEO Elizabeth Tucker, Editor-in-Chief Attilio D’Agostino and Executive Editor Rachel Brandt, will expand distribution past St. Louis and throughout the region, becoming a national media entity with a focus on the middle of America and a commitment to St. Louis as its home base.
“Over the last few years we’ve seen the middle of America give birth to important movements and work in arts, culture, music, style and activism. We felt it was time for an elevated publication to honor these makers, artists, creators, activists and communities—to connect them to each other and show their energy and creativity to the world,” D’Agostino said.
ALIVE has already begun the process, introducing award-winning writers and national contributors with a Midwestern connection in 2016, including Sarah Kendzior (The New York Times, POLITICO and The Guardian) and Dan Michael (GQ, Men’s Health, Rolling Stone), among others.
ALIVE’s current issue will be distributed in both St. Louis and Kansas City. From there, it will grow its reach and influence into several cities throughout the region in 2017, including: Indianapolis, Detroit, Omaha, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville and Nashville. And watch for exciting new publications coming in 2017 focused on St. Louis arts, culture and style. The new ALIVEmag.com features a modern design that is optimized for mobile use and incorporates an advanced user experience, letting readers navigate the site using tags based on topic, as well as mood.
The expansion is also marked by a successful year for the company’s full-service brand strategy agency and influencer network, which will be a continued focus in 2017. ALIVE Agency soft-launched under the leadership of Tucker and partners Jennifer Wiley and Lindsay Pattan in 2014, and quickly grew, doubling revenues year-over-year and servicing clients such as Caleres, St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission, The Compardo Team, Consips Restaurant Group, Eckert’s Farm, Kranzberg Arts Foundation, and organizations within the startup and innovation communities such as Hanger, Fauxgerty, Venture Café and Murmuration.
ALIVE Media Group also recently announced the expansion of this year’s Saint Louis Fashion Week to a full, ten-week season of fashion, and the addition of a new event and grant program, the Caleres Fashion Entrepreneur Competition.
