ALIVE Chats With 'Show Me St. Louis' About Metro Theater Company's Latest Production

Recently, ALIVE’s own Lindsay Pattan and Show Me St. Louis’ Heidi Glaus chatted with Metro Theater Company’s Managing Editor, Matthew Neufeld, about their latest production “Afflicted: Daughters of Salem.”

“Afflicted,” written by Laurie Brooks and presented by The Missouri History Museum, tells the story of what led to the Salem Witch Trials. Five girls get themselves into trouble after they have their fortunes told. From there, the story of accusations and secrets unfolds to create a web of lies that quickly spins out of control.

“Here at ALIVE, we are big fans of women’s history and delivering positive messages through theater and film,” Pattan says. In the traditions of movies like “Mean Girls” or the television series “Pretty Little Liars,” this play looks inside teen politics where allies are found, power is taken, promises are made—and broken.

“Afflicted” is currently playing at the Missouri History Museum through March 22.  This week’s performances include: March 20 at 10am and 7:30pm, March 21 at 7:30pm and March 22 at 2pm.
