A local entrepreneur and TV host debuts his first book.

“Money follows passion, not the other way around,” says David Siteman Garland. It’s a belief that has helped him achieve success over the last three years as an entrepreneur, marketer and host/founder of “The Rise to the Top.”

Now, this local young professional is sharing his insight, knowledge and passion in his debut book, “Smarter, Faster, Cheaper: Non-Boring, Fluff-Free Strategies for Marketing and Promoting Your Business,” releasing next month. Siteman Garland, who’s interviewed hundreds of business leaders, authors and experts since creating his business and brand marketing show in 2008, says he wanted to write a book about marketing and branding for the small business owner that would change their mindset and allow them to immediately take action. And true to Siteman Garland’s candid style, the book does just that, in a smart and approachable way.

Siteman Garland breaks down the shift in the marketing and social media world, then presents strategies to improve your business and succeed—including being your own media source, using online video and building credibility. “The idea for the book came from an article I wrote about the future of marketing,” says Garland. But also from the mindset that success really happens when you build a business around a passion that makes you excited to go to work every day.” ($24.95, available at bookstores and smarterfastercheaper.com).
