A Peek Inside ALIVE’s Issue 3 Launch Party
The magic of Midwest makers is inspiring on the page, but it’s a different kind of alchemy to meet them in real life. These are the people making dreams happen, taking complex ideas and bringing them to life. Whether it’s a shipping-container art gallery or an award-winning restaurant bucking classics, these are the creators and innovators of our generation.
At ALIVE’s issue launch parties, ALIVE members and subscribers can meet these makers, dive deeper into their respective crafts and listen to them speak about their challenges—and how they overcame them. It’s also a time to come together and celebrate the diversity of talent and magic taking place all across the middle of America.
At our recent Issue 3 launch party, we enjoyed hors d’oeuvres crafted by St. Louis’ Vista Ramen, alongside an open bar featuring complimentary cocktails by Jim Beam Vanilla. A modern, fashion-forward pop-up shop featured Elise Joseph‘s GOODWIN, Ami Beck’s Dolyn Bags, Mesa Home, Future Ancestor, STL Style House, K Ferrara Color, and St. Louis Fashion Fund designers AUDRA and Agnes Hamerlik.
A panel discussion hosted by ALIVE Executive Editor Rachel Brandt featured Issue 3 subjects, Elise Joseph, Ami Beck, Andy Schumacher, Hannah Lodwick, Cambria Potter and Jon Marzette. Shortly after, a poetry reading by Steven D. Schroeder warmed and intrigued the room. The lights dimmed, and the evening closed with a live performance by Kansas City’s DJ Jon Marzette.
We tell the stories of interesting and real people doing remarkable things in the heartland. Your support through membership, and events like this give creatives all over the world confidence and permission to pursue their dreams.
