With the cold and slightly difficult weather outside, it can be a bit harder during this time of the year to pull one’s self off the couch and find the motivation to work out. Still, this February is full of different fitness events that would suit just about any taste, whether you prefer to be indoors or outside, running or perfecting your yoga moves or simply celebrating the upcoming holidays.

Check out our list of the top fitness or athletic events going on this month, and prepare to get yourself moving!

Conquer Your Fear of Bridges Ride
Feb. 8, Washington and Tucker (Trailnet)
This unique bike ride starts Downtown and makes a route over the brand-new Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge and the Mississippi River right before the city’s 250th anniversary. Face your fear of bridges (if you have that fear), and bike either the 7-mile route or the 32-mile ride. Later in the day, you’ll have the opportunity run, walk or bike the bridge, and there will also be a parade, state dignitary appearances and more.

Wellness Zone: Train Like the St. Louis Rams
Feb. 9, Rams Park
For the second year, you have the chance to train like one of the St. Louis Rams at the Wellness Zone event with its skilled coaches, football drills, fitness stations and Rams players. There will also be physicians available to help answer sports injury and health questions. Throughout the day, you can also tour the locker room, win prizes and pose in a football-themed photo booth.

Barre 3 Cupid’s Class
Feb. 13, Barre 3
Right in time for Valentine’s Day, Barre 3 in Des Peres will hold its first-ever Cupid’s Class. Created specifically for couples, this event is certainly sweat-heavy but also a lot of fun. Childcare is provided for those who need it, and there will also be complimentary wine and beer to follow the evening’s activities.

7th Annual Whitecliff Trail Run
Feb. 15, Whitecliff Park
Whitecliff Park’s annual trail run is back with a 3.5-mile race around the beautiful, slightly hilly park grounds and trails. Participants can enter as individuals or as two-person teams. Don’t be scared of harsh weather though! This run goes on unless blizzard-worthy weather ensues.

Run for the Chocolate
February 15, Laclede’s Landing
Run or walk through Laclede’s Landing and Downtown St. Louis with one prize in mind— chocolate! In perfect theme for the Valentine’s Day holiday season, Run for the Chocolate encourages participants of all skill levels and ages to sign up in pairs or as singles. At the end, look forward to chocolate medals, a chocolate fondue fountain and over 125 gallons of hot cocoa contributed by local chocolatier Bissinger’s.

Fun, Flirty and Fabulous 5&5
Feb. 16, Upper Muny Parking Lot
Women (and men!) across St. Louis are encouraged to head out toward Forest Park for this first 5K and 5-mile event. With two different races, it provides a great opportunity for more seasoned runners to run the longer event and bring a less-experienced friend along for the other. You can also check out Jazzercise performers, an expo and more before or after the races.

YogaHour®  with Darren Rhodes
Feb. 21-23, Southtown Yoga
World-renowned yoga master and founder of YogaHour, Darren Rhodes brings his unique skills and practice methods for more than 360 poses to Southtown Yoga this month. Don’t miss out on these few days of intense but practical yoga training, especially if you already know the basics.
