1/ St. Louis Small Press Expo
Celebrating its third year, the St. Louis Small Press Expo showcases more than 80 independent publishing projects at Grand Hall within the St. Louis Central Library on Saturday, Oct. 15. Featuring zines, comic books, art books, indie literature and much more, this year’s expo also features a kickoff event at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation on Friday, Oct. 14, and the grand opening of the St. Louis Public Library’s zine collection on Thursday, Oct. 13.
2/ Rescued Furnishings Grand Opening
Attend the grand opening of Lafayette Avenue’s newest furniture store Rescued Furnishings & Designs 10am-4pm Saturday, Oct. 15, and again 10am-4pm Sunday, Oct. 16. The event features cookies, cupcakes, giveaways as well as food from Byrd & Barrel.
3/ Bob Schneider
The Old Rock House
Austin-based musician and former frontman of Ugly Americans, Bob Schneider stops by The Old Rock House on Saturday, Oct. 15, as part of his “Practical Guide to Everything Tour.” Tickets are available now for $20. Doors open at 7pm, while the show starts at 8pm.
4/ “Every 28 Hours”
Center of Creative Arts
Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, The One-Minute Play Festival and Oregon Shakespeare Festival have collaborated to create a collection of 71 one-minute plays from across the country called “Every 28 Hours.” This national partnership focuses on the widely shared and contested statistic that every 28 hours in America, a black person is the victim of systemic violence and is killed by the police, vigilantes or security guards.
5/ Fright Night Party
Join Living Collective, Weird Culture and The Vino Gallery on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 4-8pm for a night of drinking, shopping, spooky activities and special performances from local businesses and artists such as Lady Von Black Curiosities, Meero Mani Nails, Metal Institution and more. A portion of all sales will benefit the Youth In Need Emergency Shelter. This event is free to attend.

Visit the South Grand neighborhood on Saturday, Oct. 15, to make your mark and create your very own chalk masterpiece. Whether you’re a professional, amateur, child or adult, you’re invited to let your artistic side shine through and celebrate everything that South Grand has to offer.
7/ Rock ‘N’ Roll St. Louis Marathon
Marking its sixth year, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon returns to St. Louis on Oct. 15-16. This running festival features local bands performing along the course, a complimentary post-race beer, a headlining concert by The Urge and a scenic course through historic Downtown St. Louis. Runners have the option of choosing to run the 5K on Oct. 15 or the 10K and half marathon, both on Oct. 16.
