Yesterday evening at STLFW’s Neiman Marcus Fashion Chat and Presentation, budding emerging fashion designer¬†Jonathan Simkhai impressed the crowd with his womenswear collection that highlighted both versatility and ease. We caught up with the design aficionado post-show (appropriately in the Jonathan Simkhai section of Neiman Marcus’ CUSP department), to ask him a few questions.

ALIVE: What are three words that describe the Jonathan Simkhai brand?

JS: Cool, sexy and sporty.

ALIVE: What are your favorite fabrics to work with?

JS: I love bonded jersey and neoprene. I tend to lean toward fabrics that don’t wrinkle and that showcase and contour a woman’s body.

ALIVE: Do you have a favorite item from your current collection?

JS: It would have to be the inseparable separates. I love the idea of versatile wardrobe options that include tops and bottoms that can be mixed and matched.

See our trend recap of the Neiman Marcus Fashion Chat and Presentation for more details about Simkhai’s collection.
