As highlighted in ALIVE’s latest issue, Voyages & Discoveries, Nashville is a fabulous road-trip-worthy locale to visit, shop and eat—and has quickly stole my heart one honky tonk at a time. Here are five of my favorite spots to snag vintage treasures—specifically clothing, shoes and accessories—in the country music capital.

/ Local Honey: With two locations, Local Honey is usually my first stop when it comes to my vintage clothing quest. Part retail space/part hair salon, it’s stocked with quality vintage pieces for men and women (merchandised and styled on the racks very impressively might I add), including jewelry made by Nashville-based artisans.

/ Nashville Flea: Only slightly off the beaten path, this large flea market is an epicenter of vintage wears and clothing, including a few cute pop-up-on-wheels-style boutiques that also carry some new items. If you are lucky, the booth that has the best vintage furs I’ve ever seen will be there ….

/ Southern Thrift Store: Similar to a Value Village, Southern is a must-stop shop for those who love to dig a little bit for treasures. Worth it.

/ The Hip Zipper: Closely compared to our Retro 101, The Hip Zipper is a trove of vintage from all eras, located in the heart of Five Points. The only thing that rivals the selection is the friendly staff, making it one of my personal favorite shops to hang out in and stay awhile. Hint: If you have an affection for vintage jewelry and turquoise, this is your spot.

/ Savant Vintage: Named by Vogue as a top shop to stag vintage, Savant is like a little cabin that’s literally bursting at the seams with pieces for men and women, and is a favorite for the Southern celeb set. It is a bit hefty on the wallet, but it’s always worth it if you find that special piece.

/ High Class Hillbilly: You can truly achieve hillbilly king or queen status at country crooner Nikki Lane’s carefully curated vintage shop that features clothing that ranges in style from every day wear to looks fit for the stages of the Grand Ole Opry.
