4 Hands Celebrates City-Wide Giving

4 Hands Brewing Co., known for its craft brews that appear across the city, is now also known for its charitable giving. Its most recent year-round offering, City Wide American Pale Ale, benefits local nonprofit organizations.
How does a beer help a non-profit? A percentage of proceeds from each four-pack is donated to those organizations throughout the city. Working on a quarter system throughout 2016, 4 Hands (and 4 Hands beer-drinkers) will help out Cherokee Street/Love Bank Park, Grace Hill, Great Rivers Greenway and International Institute of St. Louis.
The APA achieves its floral and fruity aroma by using a combination of Centennial, Citrus, and Amarillo hops. According to 4 Hands’ experts, the beer pairs perfectly with two timeless St. Louis favorites: pork steaks and toasted ravioli.
If you’ve noticed a hyperlocal theme so far, wait until you see the can, which proudly sports 4 Hands’ interpretation of the St. Louis flag, and almost nothing else—a departure from the brewing company’s other designs, which often include highly stylized, intricate illustrations.
Of the brew, Kevin Lemp says, “City Wide pays homage to our beautiful city, but the depth of this project stretches deeper than just the city limits.” This initiative, just the first step in 4 Hands “Make Your Mark” project, has been created to encourage 4 Hands customers and beyond to get involved with their communities.
For a slight twist on the beer, stop by the 4 Hands tap room to try the Peach Sweet Tea variation.
