#31DaysOfMovement: Introducing Pure Barre Of The Central West End

On Wednesday, July 15 fitness enthusiasts of the Central West End will have a new hot spot to sweat. After achieving great success with their Ladue studio that opened November, our friends at Pure Barre knew the Central West End was an obvious choice for a second location. To continue our #31DaysOfMovement, we’ve teamed up with Pure Barre to introduce this innovative work out we think is worth checking out.

From the nurses and doctors at local STL hospitals to the college students and educators at our local schools, Pure Barre offers discounts and special packages to a wide variety of demographics. Open seven days a week, with early morning and late evening classes, we love that their schedule is accessible enough to accommodate busy lives. Curious about what to expect at your first class? We were too!

First things first: Everyone is capable of trying Pure Barre. The music-driven class is based around the ballet barre and the highly-trained instructors create a low-impact workout that tones the body without putting excessive stress on your joints. Pure Barre focuses on tiny isometric movements and may be one of the fastest ways to change the shape of your body. Pure Barre’s instructors tell us that clients typically see the best results when they take three to four classes per week.

In just 55 minutes, a full-body workout is achieved, concentrating on the areas women struggle with most: hips, thighs, seat abdominals and arms. Each strength section is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscles without bulk.

The concentration involved in the Pure Barre method allows clients to be fully in the moment, creating the mental benefits similarly obtained by yoga and meditation. A transformed body and a clear head? We like the sound of that.
