Four St. Louis-Area Schools That Can Transform Your Child’s Education
Searching for the perfect place for your child to experience intellectual, social and artistic fulfillment this academic year? You’re in luck. Below are four St. Louis-area schools that combine hands-on curriculum with small class sizes and personalized attention, perfect for young, developing minds. See what each school has to offer by reading below—and by checking out the schools’ respective open-house dates in October and November.
The College School
The College School engages children ages three to 14 in active, hands-on curriculum that is both rigorous and reflective. From coding robots to becoming investigative journalists in local neighborhoods, students do more than learn in a traditional classroom setting. Students discover that they have influence, voice and skill sets that can impact the world today, tomorrow and for the future. They connect learning to real life. Graduates of The College School go on to attend their first-choice high schools and pursue their passions. Join The College School at its Fall Open House on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m to 12 p.m., or contact them to schedule a personal tour at 314-962-9355 or email@example.com. It’s school as it should be.
Great Circle Academy
Great Circle Academy is the place for K-12 students to learn and belong. The nurturing, structured environment meets each student’s unique needs, empowering them to unlock their fullest potential. Featuring small class sizes, accreditations from AdvancED & Independent Schools Association of Central States (ISACS), and a teacher/licensed clinical therapist team approach, the academy supports students with significant emotional/behavioral challenges, communication disorders, cognitive delays, or autism spectrum disorder, and high schoolers in substance use recovery. Join the academy for its open house on Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Financial scholarships available.
MICDS (Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School)
MICDS, one of St. Louis’ top college preparatory schools, invites you to attend their open house this fall on Oct. 27 at 9 a.m. You’ll have the opportunity to gather knowledge, ask questions and engage with the school’s supportive, collaborative community. Serving students from junior kindergarten through 12th grade, the school’s teachers, administrators and staff have made it their personal mission to support and inspire students on a lifelong journey of learning and discovery. Students explore their passions and pursue academic excellence in state-of-the-art classrooms, labs, athletic facilities, theaters and art studios across the school’s 100-acre campus, in an innovative and diverse learning environment. Call 314.995.7367 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a tour. At MICDS, students learn to lead lives of purpose, fueled by curiosity and service to others.
St. Joseph’s Academy
Founded in 1840, St. Joseph’s Academy is a private Catholic high school for girls in St. Louis, one of the longest-running schools in the state—and one of its keys to multi-generational success has been its consistent use of updated educational techniques. Students have the opportunity to benefit from brand-new College Advising and Resource Center, the Computer Science and Engineering Department, the Cup of Joe entrepreneurial experience and a variety of service trips. Learn more about this exceptional culture of learning at the school’s open house on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 12 to 4 p.m.
