 In Culture

A big part of clean eating and healthy living is knowing where to find nourishing food. Shopping locally and purchasing from farmers in your area is a great way to support local business and also a way to ensure you know exactly where your food is coming from. This weekend, consider checking out your local farmers market. We’ve compiled a list of three great markets to get you started.

1/ Tower Grove Farmers Market
Every Saturday morning the Tower Grove Farmers Market takes over the park with healthy food, live music, yoga classes, kid-friendly activities and food trucks. If you need to pick up some wholesome groceries but are also looking for a fun Saturday morning, get out of the house and take a stroll through Tower Grove Park. It doesn’t hurt that part of their mission is to provide a space for non-profits to spread their word. That’s something we can get behind.

2/ Soulard Farmers Market
Soulard Farmers Market has been a favorite spot for veggie-loving weekenders for over 100 years. But here, you’ll also find much more than vegetables. Purchase flowers by the dozen, a variety of meats, dry goods and more.

3/ Kirkwood Farmers Market
Nestled in downtown Kirkwood, across from OK Hatchery, Kirkwood Farmers Market thrives in the busy business district, home to over 300 local businesses. Open 7 days a week, you can find produce during the summer, pumpkins in the fall and holiday events during the early winter months.
